A Plea for the Children of Zambia Dear ,Supporters My name is Nakato Shivan Grace, and I am writing on behalf of the many vulnerable children in our community here in Zambia who are in urgent need of support. Every day, I witness children sleeping on bare floors, wrapped only in thin cloth or nothing at all to keep them warm through cold nights. Some have lost their parents, others come from families that are simply too poor to provide the basic necessities of life. Many of these children do not have mattresses, bedding, or even a safe place to call home. When it rains, their shelters leak. When it’s cold, they shiver. And yet, they still try to go to school — barefoot, hungry, and often without the means to pay the small but crucial school fees. Some walk long distances with empty stomachs just to sit in class, determined to learn and dream of a better future. I am reaching out because we cannot do this alone. We are seeking kind-hearted individuals, organizations, and partners who can help us provide: • Blankets and mattresses to ensure these children have warmth and comfort at night • Bedding and basic supplies for hygiene and dignity • Assistance with school fees to keep children in the classroom and out of the streets • Safe shelter to protect them from the harsh elements and dangers they face daily Even the smallest donation can make a huge difference — one blanket, one mattress, one child staying in school. We believe every child deserves to sleep in safety, to study with hope, and to grow up knowing they are not forgotten. With your support, we can make this a reality for many.
